Horoscope: Stars for January 2012

Well January 2012 is here. First the aspects to take note of (all times are Australian AEST):

  • Jan 7/8 sees Mercury at 28/29 degrees Sag, first sextiling Saturn then Neptune.
  • The full moon on Monday Jan 9 is at 18 degrees Cancer 5:30pm
  • Venus trines Saturn, conjuncts Neptune then heads straight into Pisces on Friday 13th. Wham bam…!
  • A new moon on January 23rd is at 2 degrees Aquarius 5:40pm
  • And then Mars goes retrograde on January 24th 2012 at 23 degrees Virgo 10:53am

Capricorn (January 2012 horoscope)

When you look back over the last year, you realise how much you have changed. More than other years I think, no? But only in one area so far. Never mind, Pluto will make sure you continue to change, and it will start in other areas. So if your looks/appearance has changed, now it’s time for you career and love life and house to change. Yep all of them. If your job changed, now the others will too. This goes deeper and wider than you thought. But I think you’ve got some time to “go slow”. Mars is retro and that will help you get used to things – Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Cap. I’d love to know what you are doing with 2012 Capricorn!

Aquarius (January 2012 horoscope)

The end of the month is definitely your time as the Sun in your sign makes a courtesy call on your Ruler Uranus in Aries and then there is a New Moon in Aquarius. You will shine! Have you been bored lately? Not sure where things are heading? The next 4-6 weeks will be very telling. By March/April you won’t know yourself. Sudden changes are not for everyone but I think you will enjoy these very much. Of course it depends on your viewpoint and mood. Just trust you will be in a great place by August.

Pisces (January 2012 horoscope)

Neptun is heading into Pisces soon. That is so exciting isn’t it! Your frustration with people who don’t understand that underlying everything is spirituality will diminish and you will find your “group” or spiritual family. No, not a cult, just good friends that share the same interests and values as you. You won’t have to explain everything and be called a “wacko” for saying it out loud. I think Uranus in your sign for such a long time helped to remove your shyness but still, it’s about time you weren’t so isolated. Just try to go through the next few years conscious, Pisces, not in a drunken or otherwise intoxicated haze. You’ll appreciate it more! I wonder if you have your friends that share your spiritual approach to life nearby already?

Aries (January 2012 horoscope)

This month will see you thinking too much about work too early in the year. What happened to your “destressing in 2012” resolution hmm? What I do see is in the first few weeks, more time spent chatting with work colleagues than pushing them. Nothing is fast enough at work but you do seem to be easing up a bit. Friends will be fun later in the month, take a few days off, ignore family dramas and head out for a picnic or the beach with old friends. Once Mars goes Retro on the 24th, you won’t be feeling too flash – take a painkiller if you must and have a lie down. You’ll be up again in no time! And what are you going to do to destress in 2012?

Taurus (January 2012 horoscope)

How are you finances? A bit quiet after Christmas? Wishing you hadn’t spent so much or maxed out your Visa card? Don’t worry, you’ll be squeezing more money in soon, probably from a hobby or a passion you hadn’t expected to be able to make money from. Follow that development! Later in the month a romance will suddenly settle down if it’s been all about. Perhaps things were going well until Christmas then you lost touch with intimacy? It’s back. If it’s not then I’m sorry but it might be gone for good. At least the arguing will vanish until August at least! Do you prefer to be in an argumentative relationship or peacefully/boringly on your own?

Gemini (January 2012 horoscope)

Chat, chat chat with your significant other. Lucky for you they understand how you like to jabber on about your day. And they appreciate it, even if they don’t say so – not everyone can be entertaining about daily chores and tasks like you Gemini! Don’t gloss over concerns though in an effort to be amusing. If you are worried about money, signal the “serious discussion time” warning. The other people in your life think you are doing so well, they might miss the signs if you jump from one subject to another. Try and get out at the end of the month to nature or a beach, you’ll be rewarded with a fresh perspective. I wonder if you know how much people do listen to you?

Cancer (January 2012 horoscope)

I think you are secretly concerned about something at home and you haven’t spoken up yet. Well you will and very soon. They need to hear it! I wouldn’t clear the air after Mars goes retrograde, that will just cause more hassles. Early is good. Venus is shining on you all month, so you have nothing to fear from whatever it is you want to say. Just beware of a Scorpio or similar in the background – he or she wants to put a spin on your words that you don’t actually mean. So be very clear. Write it out if necessary. Ask for help perhaps?

Leo (January 2012 horoscope)

Your creativity knows no bounds. Creativity is such a funny word – in astrology it can mean painting and singing, yes, but also children and rearranging the house in a more convenient way. No matter what you try, you will shine. I think you are contemplating a new “look”, perhaps a haircut? Leos are so great at changing their personality by changing their clothes. It will suit you and bring different things into your life. Do it.

Virgo (January 2012 horoscope)

Yes it’s time to lighten up on that person – someone has to be the adult and while you are “more right” that doesn’t mean it’s going to help. You are a good judge of what people need as much as what people should be doing – follow the need first. Need a project? Organise a party, something under your own control and let your “perfectionist” streak come out there. You really are good at the organising stuff, aren’t you? Give it an outlet where you don’t rely too much on others.  Let me know what project you chose?

Libra (January 2012 horoscope)

Oh I like what you have been doing, you work hard on the details don’t you? The little things that make life beautiful. Keep doing it – Mercury says so early on, and then so does Mars later. The people who notice really love you, you know that right? You will get spiritual insight as you turn mundane tasks into works of art. Arrange flowers, rearrange furniture, paint the window frames. It’s like a meditation to you. Beauty speaks into your mind: let it. What is Beauty saying?

Scorpio (January 2012 horoscope)

Are you planning on getting a new car or  mode of transport? Getting around has been challenging for a couple of years now, or at least it’s not the same as it used to be. Never mind, use Pluto to show you how to change your transport requirements. Get a bike, or roller skates. Jog to work, catch public transport, find a way to make your daily travels more interesting to you. I think a friend is more interested in you than you first realised. What are you going to do about that?

Sagittarius  (January 2012 horoscope)

Oh Sag, you are in for a treat this month. Trines to your ruler, Jupiter and sextiles from Mercury in your sign means you should be having a great time. Will the party ever stop? Just be careful what you say, you do have a tendency to pay the piper later.  Certainly by the end of the month, that thing you said that you shouldn’t have will come back to bite you on the… You know, later it will seem funny but for right now practice saying “this is me, take me or leave me, but this is me”. We love you the way you are!
So there are the stars for January 2012. I hope they are informative. Please let me know if you like them and would like me to do more?

Libra rules one-to-one relationships and with Sun and Mercury meeting in the skies in her sign, lots of chatter about values and feelings. Keep it LIGHT! Charming, caring, sweet – no Pisces tears or Scorpio pouting, no matter how tempting!

mercury retrograde 2010

Don’t let mercury going backwards worry you too much. Think of it as a time to tell people “no” and sit back and think. If you are asked to change course urgently, this is the time to practice your “I don’t think so” statements. It IS a great time to do research instead. Think of it as a holiday – don’t lurch into new ventures but grab a book or Google and start figuring out if it is actually the best thing for you to be doing with your time.

Full Moon February March 2010

Full Moon February March 2010

In Australia, the full moon is in the early hours (3:39am) of Monday 1st March. In the rest of the world, it’s Sunday afternoon.

i’m not 100% sure what to think about it. Hardly surprising with Neptune/Mercury conjunct just around the corner in Aquarius.

But Jupiter conjunct Sun (and of course opposing the Moon in Virgo) should bring good luck to some. Particularly those who have been trying to see something clearly in spite of the smoke being blown their way.

Venus will make herself comfortable with Uranus soon. But it won’t last long. Tears before bedtime – Venus likes cuddles and warmth and sensuality. Uranus is like a lightning strike – nothing huggable about that!

Keep an eye on Mars – if there is a volatile someone in your life, they might go off like a firecracker soon!

I wonder what this all means for the Olympics?

Mercury Retrograde 2010

Mercury Retrograde 2010

When Mercury goes retrograde (backwards) through the sky 3x a year, it’s a beautiful time to down tools, stop striving, stop, refresh.  Things only go backward if you are still pushing – anything that breaks or fails over, particularly travel, could very well be telling you something. We are  meaning making machines….

June: Full Moon in Cancer

June: Full Moon in Cancer

Sydney at 5:35am on Tuesday June 23rd 2009, the Moon in her own sign, Cancer, meets fiery Sun at 1 deg 30. Exactly 1/2 degree away, in opposition, Pluto lumbers into position in Capricorn to do some real usurping of power.  Somewhere in the Universe, parents are uniting with teachers to oppose bureacrats, staff are staging quiet rebellions against toxic bosses, and you… yes, what will you do? It’s a new start but not a new idea. Something that’s been brewing in your noggin for ages. Time to own it, start it, finish it. And pay the piper. Pluto in Capricorn always pays the Piper, on time, and with a tip.

  • Aries – if you’ve been working hard and ignoring brewing issues at home, just try staying on that path!
  • Taurus – Mars and Venus conjunct in your sign, a new moon in your 3rd house and Pluto in your 9th? Talk it over. And be prepared to dig and dig.
  • Gemini – Balance your needs with those of a loved one please! Pleasure and pain too. What’s that you say? Yes you CAN listen as well as talk!
  • Cancer – it’s all about you, love. And your love. What will you choose? A new comfortable start on your own, or a tall dark stranger who can show you the good life, outside of the kitchen/sofa?
  • Leo – The south node is in direct aspect with the New Moon. Don’t let old habits pull you apart. Particularly dietary ones – you know that when the moon is in Cancer you eat comfort food. (12th house).
  • Virgo – sorry about Saturn upsetting you, particularly as you of all signs like routine and fairness. But the old teacher is trining Mars/Venus conjunct in Taurus, so nice earthy activities will help throw off the recent gloom and depressions.
  • Libra- new start in career will be faced down by skullduggery in or near the home. Now it’s time to shine, you wonder if you should. But if someone is holding you back, look to the children. What sort of role model do you really want to be, for them?
  • Scorpio as you make your mark on the world, relationships are also heating up. Those Scorpios that like to be intense and focussed have a lot to choose from this month!
  • Sag – lookin’ good! Geminis are interested, even the married ones, but try to live up to your own high ideals. Philosophy and morals are no good, if you don’t put them into practice.
  • Capricorn – what happened? Pluto is gradually destroying your old life, that’s what happened. And the new moon with it’s conniptions with the nodes, and then Venus/Mars/Saturn playing on the same day will bring the finality of the changes. Try to view them with relief ok?
  • Aquarius – Jupiter and Neptune are still conjunct at 26 degrees, in your sign. You too face changes, but in spite of being a fixed sign, you are enjoying this growth and new challenges. Wacky meets wackier. Thank you, you make the world an interesting place!
  • Pisces – Uranus is also at 26 degrees, aspecting Jupiter and Neptune in Aquarius. You too are exploring the stranger side of life. But it’s harder to flow right now, as you move from one reality to another.

As always, my readings are for Sydney times. If you are in London, that’s about 8:30pm the night before (Monday 22nd).  Please let me know how the weekend, and Mon/Tuesday works out for you – on Twitter or here!

AstroNotes: Saturn Direct & Full Moon

AstroNotes: Saturn Direct & Full Moon

Thank the stars this full moon (see June 2009 Stars)  at 17 degrees Gemini/Sag

Saturn is currently in Virgo
Saturn is currently in Virgo

squares off Saturn at 17 Virgo. For the first time since Saturn went back direct in mid-May (it had been retrograde since late December) I have felt Saturn’s discipline, structure and (in Virgo) need for routine kicking in.

This week has been more focussed on health (Virgo rules 6th house of health and routine), going to the gym, eating my veggies and generally paying the piper for 5-6 months of general sloth. And it feels good. There is something about Saturn that makes feel happy that we have boundaries.

I just hope it lasts. Luckily the 17th degree triggers off some gem/sag points for me, so I think it will.

How about you? Has Saturn kicked in, started you lusting for broccoli, and gym classes? Have stalled activities, meant to bring some structure and routine to your life, started up again?

New Moon May 24 at 3 Gemini

A lot of power for those with planets in the early degrees of air signs. This new moon at 3 Gemini energizes the North Node at nearly 2 degrees Aquarius, forcing a group breaking free or moving into new territory to discuss and cogitate on the nature of change, communication and what is odd or eccentric. If you have a 2-3 degree air watch for amusing offbeat events or get-togethers. Fire be warned – this is not a configuration that suits “me me me”! Enquire about others, listen in groups, you don’t have to always shine. The same degree planets in earth and water will experience something between Fire’s disappointment at not being the centre of attention, and Air’s amusement at the oddness of it all.

All of this is building up to the spectacular Jupiter/Neptune conjunction in a few days time.

Jupiter Neptune Conjunction in Aquarius May 2009

Jupiter Neptune Conjunction in Aquarius May 2009

On May 28th 2009, at 6:05am AEST Australia, Jupiter conjuncts Neptune at 26 degrees Aquarius. Also at 26 degrees Aquarius is Chiron, the healer. Besides these three at 26 degrees Aquarius, is Mars at 26 degrees Aries. Mars will mostly add energy for a quick change to the whole configuration.

Jupiter makes big, huge in fact, any thing that comes across it’s path. And there is nebulous Neptune, minding her own business right on that path. Aquarians are not particularly orthodox in their interactions so expect major exposures of strange and erratic behaviours. Politics, drugs, movie stars, major illnesses will hit the headlines.

If you have planets at 26 degrees, especially Aquarius, Leo, or Aries watch the antics of those around you. If you are involved in humanitarian, publishing, or performance art, that warning goes double. If you are living your truth, this will blow wide open any doors you have been trying to open. The more serendipitous or strange the connection, the bigger the change it will wrought in your life. Just remember: change is good. It keeps you moving.

There’s an element of trust to this change. If Saturn was involved or one of the other planets, I’d say “preparation” or “study” or “commonsense”. But with Jupiter/Neptune, it’s “trust”. Let go, go with it, keep moving, change is good,  live your dreams, dream your life, that’s all that Jupiter and Neptune meeting up in Aquarius want. And Chiron is there to heal the way.

Mercury is slowing down again getting ready to turn direct from it’s retrograde. Mercury retrograde ends on May 31st at 11:21 AM AEST, Australia.
